With three international airports within easy driving distance, the Almanzora valley area is simple to find from almost anywhere in the world. Although car hire is essential, Bedar, Cabrera and the Cortijo Grande are all close together and easy to find from Almeria, Murcia or Alicante airports. The directions, flight information and relevant links below should be helpful.
1. FROM ALMERIA: driving time 1 hour. On leaving the airport follow the signs for the A7 motorway. Travel northbound on A7, signed Murcia, to junction 520. Exit motorway at junction 520, at roundabout take sign for Turre.Travel over the high modern road bridge and then over a small old fashioned stone bridge and after 350m take a right turn and follow the signs for Cortijo-Cabrera, the Cortijo Grande lies in the valley below the Sierra Cabrera. For Bedar take the sign for Los Gallardos and after 1km take left turn back under the motorway signed for Bedar.
2. FROM MURCIA: driving time 1.50 hours. On leaving the airport follow signs for AP7 motorway. Join AP7 and travel south signed Vera and Almeria. Note that this is a toll road, the road will eventually join the A7 where you will pay the toll (16 euros currently). Continue south signed Almeria on A7 to junction 520. Exit motorway at 520 and follow directions as above.
3. FROM ALICANTE: driving time 2 hours. On leaving the airport follow signs for Murcia and A7 motorway. Join A7 and travel south signed Murcia. At Murcia take sign for Almeria. Continue on the A7 to junction 520. Exit motorway at junction 520 and follow directions as above.
