Weather

The province of Almeria features a Mediterranean climate with hot summer weather and particularly mild winters.

Reputed to have 320 days of sunshine a year, this is one of the driest areas in Europe, with average annual rainfall totalling only 7 inches. Interestingly the average rainfall in July is zero and in January only one inch. Summer daytime temperatures linger around 30 degrees for about four months and on occasion climb higher. Although winter weather is cooler the days are still dry and inviting with temperatures often up around 20 degrees. December for example has a daytime average of 17 degrees. Sunshine is in abundance year round, winter average hours are between 5 and 7 while June, July and August average 11 hours and 40 minutes of sunshine per day.
